KPEG and its successors

KPEG and its successors, KEZE and KCKO, have operated on 1380 from 1957 to the early 1980's.


Founded by a young couple from Missouri, KPEG started out as "all girl" station with an all female announcer and sales staff. KPEG later changed its format to country and western music after the station changed owners.

Established in 1969, KEZE started out was a combination AM-FM station which broadcast of all things "easy listening music. In the mid-1970's, the station became strictly FM, broadcasting various types of rock music formats.
